We step back a few years to the beginning of the Ford Escort timeline with this release of the Mk 1 in a racy Daytona yellow colour scheme with contrasting silver and black exterior trim. The interior is moulded in tan with black dashboard and steering wheel.
Ford launched the Mk 1 Ford Escort in 1967 when it was classed as a small family car. UK manufacture centred on Ford’s Dagenham and Halewood plants. Features included rear wheel drive, four speed manual gearbox or 3-speed automatic. Our model is registered NRL 341M from 1973, by which time the Mk 1 had been upgraded to feature square headlights, stylised radiator grille and luxury internal fittings including carpets, a cigar lighter and a water temperature gauge.
The Escort evolved over the years, appealing to motorist s across the board from family car to race and rally where it attracted the big names in the world of speed for over two decades.
